Career Pathways

The Health & Wellness industry is rich and diverse, with new niches being created regularly to meet clients’ evolving needs. Everything from diet planning to sports massage, physical therapy to competitive coaching and psychology, are attainable as part of this career path. It all starts with identifying what it is you love, and channeling that into a profession that can help transform the lives of your clients.

Even a basic fitness qualification opens many doorways, providing you with foundational understanding to begin exploring more specialised disciplines. Many businesses have entry-level positions open for graduates, although you’ll usually need to undertake further studies to progress in most fields.

In addition to the roles listed here, the Health & Wellness sector gives you the chance to pursue careers in group fitness, one-one-one coaching, remedial massage, performance psychology, physical therapy, mindfulness and meditation, and much more.

Nutrition

With over 60% of Australians consuming diets detrimental to their health* the need for proper nutritional planning has never been higher. Becoming a nutritionist can be literally life-changing as you can positively affect the health of all your clients and enjoy a fulfilling career while doing so.

Coaching & Teaching

Leverage your knowledge and impart it to others through a formalised academic career path; become an instructor, coach or mentor at a school, university, sports team, or other institution to help the next generation of athletes and leaders excel.

Exercise Physiology

Similar to physiotherapists, exercise physiologists work in sports and healthcare settings to help manage and prevent injury and disease through exercise design and programming, psychology and nutrition.

Kinesiology

Gain a deep understanding of the body’s biomechanics and different movement and energy techniques. Apply your knowledge to help your clients improve their mobility, strength and endurance, and reduce aches, pains, stress, and heal injuries faster.
